Mental Abuse in Zoos
Zoos should not exist because they cause physical and mental abuse to animals. Zoos are thought to be educational and fun for children and adult alike . However they are the opposite for animals trapped in their small enclosures, fed unnatural diets ,forced to participate with, and suffer from behavioral problems such as self harm, refuse to eating and fighting with other animals in their enclosures.
Animals stressful behavior can be observed by seeing animals walk back and forth or in circles for hours, also biting or scratching themselves excessively.
Animals are forced into situations that are not natural for them and are physically punished when they resist. Also they take a measure if something is ethical or natural is if animals must be sedated in order to get them to do something (like take photos with zoo guests) then they are not naturally supposed to be doing it.
They perform the diets of animals in are not adequate for their natural need they are given food that is prepared by zoo keepers rather than allowing animals to hunt their own prey or gather food as they would in their natural habit.
Animals are often starved in attempt to train them, they are persuaded into performing tricks in exchange for their food.

Physical Abuse in Zoos
They are just millions of wild animals being held captive across the united states. Some are aquariums, circuses , theme parks and zoos, others live caged at private homes.
Young chimpanzees on movie sets are “trained” through regular beatings and then discarded around age 8 when they become too large to control.
Big cats, such as lions and tigers, used in circuses are forced to live in tiny cages that are transported across the country. Animals are forced to sleep, eat, and defecate in the same small area.
Kept in barren cages rarely larger than 20 by 20 feet, bears in roadside zoos spend their days pacing, sleeping abnormally long periods of time, and bobbing their head – all indications of extreme psychological distress.
Wild dolphins swim up to 40 miles day with the other members of their pod, while captive dolphins are forced to swim in tiny pools with unfamiliar dolphins day after day.
Some roadside zoos declaw tiger and lion cubs a serious surgical procedure in which a cat’s toes are amputated at the last joint. Declawing is extremely painful and causes permanent disability.
Severe arthritis and foot infections are common in captive elephants due to standing on hard, unnatural surfaces all day without room to roam.

Emotional Abuse in Zoos
Zoo animals tend to have Zoochosis. Not only during their hibernation but every second they are at the zoo.
Zoochosis is a range of psychological problems animals have when they are kept in prolonged captivity.
This creates stress, boredom, and unnatural behaviors. Sometimes you will even see animals walking back and forth in their cages which are signs of distress. Animals are use to walking or running for miles in their natural habitat and live longer in the wild. Their lifespand is shorter due lack of food and captivity.
An animals mental health works the same as any other. If their physical health isn't prioritized, their mental state will not be competent. Animals should be fed as much as humans. 99% of the animals enclosures are way too small, 68% of them are dirty, and 50% of their water is also dirty.
When the animals are raised in zoos, they have less chances surviving when they go back to the wild.
